What is an average day of work like for you? My average work day consists of numerous meetings, a good amount of travel, and adapting to opportunities on the fly.
What originally got you interested in the work that you do? I had the opportunity to apply to Grand Rapids Scale in 2012. Once my training began, I fell in love with the day to day duties of an account manager. Each day is unique and you must adapt frequently.
What is your favorite part of your work? The fact YOU and your team produce your own success. The harder you work, the more stops you make…the more potential sales you now have in the pipeline.
What is your favorite experience you had with a customer or your favorite achievement when servicing a customer? My favorite applications were selling/installing a truck scale to a customer in Memphis, TN. It was unique from the geographical standpoint, and it was a very large order. I also enjoyed selling a truck scale to Milligan Farms in Cass City. They were great to work with.
If you weren’t in the business of metrology, what do you think you’d be doing? Sports Marketing/Management.
What are some activities you enjoy when you aren’t working? Basketball, golf, fishing, playing with my dog, and traveling to Glen Arbor/Traverse City.
What is your favorite childhood memory? Growing up playing football, baseball, track, and basketball produced a lot of great memories.
What is your favorite food? All seafood…Walleye and Perch being at the top.
What are some of your favorite movies? The Departed, The Martian, and The Revenant.
