Time working at GRM: 15 years ( I took 17 years off to be a “Stay at Home Mom”) In 2012, I was asked to come back and answer phones while the office staff was learning a new software program – I have been back now for 5 years.
What is an average day of work like for you? Documenting technician’s time, creating customer invoices, communicating with customers to obtain purchase orders, quoting and coordinating scale rental orders, answering phones and assisting customer’s service needs.
What is your favorite part of your work? A satisfied customer! When you hear a happy “Thank you so much…” from your customer, it’s really fulfilling.
If you weren’t in the business of metrology, what do you think you’d be doing? School teacher, baker/chef or master gardener.
What are some activities you enjoy when you aren’t working? Gardening, baking and cooking, camping, hiking, scrap booking, attending Albion College and University of Michigan football games, and participating in many ministries through my church.
What is your favorite childhood memory? Michigan camping trips with my parents and siblings.
What is your favorite food? I love my veggies, especially roasted brussel sprouts.
What are some of your favorite movies? I don’t go to movies. I prefer attending live shows/musicals at the Civic Theater and Broadway Grand Rapids. I also enjoy HGTV.
What are some of your favorite musicians/bands? My son and daughter are my favorite musicians. The University of Michigan marching band and Albion College British Eighth marching band (where my children attend) are two of my favorite bands.
What is your favorite place to travel to or visit? San Diego to visit my family, the Lake Michigan shoreline and Northern Michigan. I also enjoy visiting Michigan wineries.
What is something you find unique/interesting about yourself? I met my husband and best friend while working at GRM. Now we get to work together everyday.
